Re: first boot - bootstrap prob

What does the output of pdisk look like? From your message below it looks like you should point lilo.conf to /dev/sdb6. Perhaps you already tried this.

Once you've installed MkLinux, bootstrap.conf is located in the /mach_servers directory on the ext2 partition.

If this does not help, please reiterate what you've done up to this point. I haven't been following the thread.

Hi

Thanks for the help on the previous problem BTW.

I've got MkLinux installed but after changing the lilo.conf to the linux
root it comes up with a problem on booting.

It says "ERROR: bootstrap task cannot find configuration file, please make
sure that your boot device and partition is correctly specified. On
PowerMacs this is specified from the MkLinux control panel."
"Configuration file (or 'builtin'):
/dev/boot_device/mach_servers/bootstrap.conf"

I have 2 SCSI hard disks on different buses. The startup mac os on is sda1
and there is an hfs partition on the second sdb1 for storage and then the
linux root sdb6 and swap sdb7

I suspect it's something to do with the mach_servers folder not being found.
I've tried putting this on both hfs partitions to no avail.

What should I do?
