Re: PPC 7100/80 How to get started?

I was a bit sloppy when I said I had 20MB. I think I have 24 MB = 8MB +
2x8MB. I will try to locate 32 MB SIMMS and see. I do have a external
SCSI disk with 2 MB - so that should work. Hope to be back soon. Thanks,
Juergen

Note: Sims have to be installed in pairs !

there is four ram slots on 7100 - maximum is supposed to be 4X32Mb.
There is as well usually 8Mb soldered on the board - thus 20mb for the
lot seems a bit curious

I dont know if you can use 64mb sims - it has been reported possible on
6100 - but perhaps you can't go further than 4x32Mb+8mb=136Mb on 7100
(maximum in Apple specs - in Guru as well) With 1999 versions installer
16Mb was enough ... but don't try to use kde ... even with more memory
it would be to slow on the 7100 Now I don't know Besides that, 20Mb is
sure a bit short - try to find a couple of 16mb sims ...
