64 Meg SIMMs only work on the 6100. The 7100 has 4 slots (two banks),
while the 6100 has two (one bank), so they apparently tied the bank switch
line on the 6100 to an extra address line, or something....

If you try to use a 64 meg part on a 7100, it will just show up as a 32
meg part.

Only from a CD, and it was dicey even then. The more recent installers
won't even boot in under 24 (32 for a net install). I'd strongly suggest
checking some place like 18004memory.com. They generally have good prices
on RAM.
