This is a bit out of date, I think it was written for
beta 3 & the .iso I downloaded last week was R1. Here
are the changes I had to make (the ones I remember):

The walkthrough states that mklinux will boot from the
CD by default the first time. On mine, it was looking
for an IDE hard drive (none found) & so generated an
error. Boot into mac os, open mklinux control panel,
change rootdev setting to your CD drive.

The walkthrough gives estimated sizes for various
partitions that are way too small. Even using the
"install everything" estimates for partition sizes and
*not* choosing everything, I ended up with a full /usr
partition (segmentation fault). Stuff I found on the
web says just make one huge / partition. Since I have
two disks I ended up putting /home , /var and /tmp on
one disk (along with the mac os) and making the other
disk one big / partition, that worked. There is a way
to see how much space the installer thinks it's going
to need, but I wasn't paying much attention (should
have).

Seems like there were a few other minor annoyances &
inaccuracies. The walkthrough uses the wrong directory
name when discussing the files you need to install
under mac os, but that wasn't hard to figure out.

Good luck!
TB
