MkLinux R2 rc1 on Nubus PowerMac

Hi,

I'm trying to install MkLinux R2 onto a recently retired PowerMac 7100/66 using the MkLinux Extension. The install gets as far as telling me there is a 'syntax error' on line one of mach_servers/bootstrap.conf. The info I was able to find on the net mentioned that an older version of the mach kernel didn't recognize Mac new-line characters and to try newer versions of the mach kernel (or try correcting the bootstrap.conf file). Those posts were circa 1998 or so, and I assume the kernel on the R2 CD is newer than that. I burned the CDROM for the install from the downloaded iso, so I also assume that process would not munge the characters in bootstrap.conf. I have tried older kernels, and I have tried the install from the MkLinux-Pre-R2.iso. I have also tried to create my own cd within OSX with a bootstrap.conf that I created from scratch on my i386 RedHat box and scp'd over to my OSX box. I burned that CD using Disk Copy and it doesn't seem to be recognized by the 7100 when trying to do the install. I don't have enough room on my hard drive to try the install from there. I'd love to get the 7100 up and running and give it new life. Any ideas on what I can do to get past the bootstrap.conf problem?

Thanks,

Jack
