Hmm. I haven't seen Keith's comment yet but. . .
The problem came up while trying to deal with a filename that contains a null. It's messing up some disk cleanup I want to do and likely was some shrewd procedure for copy protection. Time to get out the Pascal compiler and a ROM that uses Pascal calling sequences, I guess.
