If method parameters were named, you wouldn't be able to have a method like this:

   - (void)doSomethingWithThis:(id)objectOne
                       andThis:(id)objectTwo
                       andThis:(id)objectThree
                       andThis:(id)objectFour;

...because then you'd have three parameters with the same name.
