| Relating to the previous discussion about nil namespaces for old application, the only place where I would see it be a problem in my proposal is for @protected methods. Say iOS makes the methods of the category UIGestureRecognizerSubclass protected, which would be the most obvious choice with this system, applications with that were compiled without namespaces would use the "nil" namespace in this case, the runtime could have a flag in this case and let protected selectors be dispatched in a special way, so we could limit the retro-compatibility nil-namespace resolution problems just to that part instead of having to manage it everywhere.
