So, this might be a bit obscure, but bare with me. I'm on a Mac developing a
CFM plugin (yes, we do MachO version too, but we have to support old host applications). I’m using Codewarrior 9.6.
We are using the veclib framework, and have been since OS 9. In Panther (10.3) it has been
subsumed into the /System/Library/Frameworks/Accelerate.framework, but has
always coexisted in /System/Library/Frameworks/veclib.framework as well. Okay, you guys know this, but I’m just giving background.
No we have had two different customers, using Mac OS 10.4.6, stating that
our plugins won't load because the veclib.framework is missing (which is
used by the veclib stub library provided by Metrowerks). I'm presuming this
is because the Metrowerks stub library points to /System/Library/Frameworks/veclib.framework (which is not present on these
two customers' machines) instead of /System/Library/Frameworks/Accelerate.framework/Frameworks/veclib.framework.
Anyone know why a user's machine would not have
/System/Library/Frameworks/veclib.framework (in addition to being in the
Accelerate framework)?
Will this be a common occurrence in the future? If so, what are my options to fix this problem? (Have my installer create a symbolic link from the Accelerate directory?)
Note that I just updated to 10.4.6 and I still have the veclib framework in
both places. So I’m a bit confused. Is there an installation of Mac OS 10.4.x that does not put the veclib framework in the /System/Library/Frameworks top level?
