You might try:_______________________________________________
-Using fprintf(stderr, ...); fflush(stderr); in your code,
-Editing /etc/cups/cupsd.conf changing the debug level to 'debug',
-Looking in /var/log/cups/error_log for the output.

I believe that the printf doesn't print because the PM runs as a task of a
print daemon and this daemon doesn't have access rights to write to the
Console. In my driver, I've had to make any debug printf's in my PM write to
a disk file.
