pmJobStreamGetNextBandProc seems slow.

Hi all,

I am developing a Printer Module and I have noticed that the function to get
the next band of data (pmJobStreamGetNextBandProc) takes a significant
amount of time with slower systems. When we run a print from preview on a
newer eMac (~700 Mhz, 128M ram) things proceed along nicely. However when
we try to print on an older system with OS 10.2 (400Mhz G4 with 128M ram)
the call to pmJobStreamGetNextBandProc takes too long (5-6 seconds in some
cases) this causes significant pauses in the printing. What processing
occurs when this call is made? Is their a way (through changing some PM
settings) that would increase the speed of this function, while maintaining
print quality?
