Given that the spool file format is PDF, and the graphic subsystem can happily read and write PDF's...Is there a reason why n-up couldn't be handled by the printing system BEFORE it hits the printers? I know this info gets passed as part of the CUPS configuration (we see it in the unix scripts for PDF Workflow - thank you!) but it seems like something that would be nice to support for all printers rather than everyone reinventing the wheel...
