Re: Bug in Tioga -> CUPS -> Tioga

I would guess you are putting too much data into the ticket...

From the archives:

The problem here is the 16K limit that CUPS imposes on the options string. A future version of CUPS will fix the problem. But for backwards compatibility please try to minimize the amount of data you add to the JobTicket. For example, shorter key names will help.

Also note that in Jaguar, the maximum length of a single option is
200 chars when both the name and value are CFStrings
512 chars when the name is a C string and the value is a CFString
Those numbers include the name of the option (e.g. "media" or "com.apple.print.PrintSettings.PMCopies..n."), the "=" and the value string.

former CEO of Sears Roebuck & Co., "categorically" denied reports that
Stewart had resigned from the company. He voiced support for the company's
embattled chief, and said a number of shareholders also voiced support.

from the job ticket in the PM, the key does not exist. It's been lost
somewhere between the PDE and the PM. This does work for short strings but
seems to have a problem with long strings.

Any thoughts on this ?
