Re: Printer Names

Mansur,

Sorry the documentation is slightly out-of-date. You should use PMServerCreatePrinterList() to obtain a list of PMPrinter objects and PMPrinterGetName() to get the user-visible name of each entry in the list.

Hi all,

i am using the following function for retrieving printer list. The
documentation says that it will return
the names of the printer as displayed in the dialog interface but it returns
printer ids.

OSStatus PMSessionCreatePrinterList (
PMPrintSession printsession,
CFArrayRef *printerLisst,
CFIndex *currentIndex,
PMPrinter *currentPrinter
);

printerList
On return, a pointer to a list of CFStringRef data types that
specify available printer names. Printer names are those shown in the user
interface. The reference to the CFArray must be created by the caller and
should be released by the caller.

Why is it happening like this ???
