Subject: Need to restart CUPS when I add a new filter to it ?

Hi All,
I have my own cups filter that I place in the
/usr/libexec/cups/filter directory and add a Sanj.conv file at /etc/cups
directory. Do I need to restart cups for the first time when I copy these
files in their respective directory ? I have tried on my system and it
worked even without restarting CUPSD. Is there any scenario where this
restart of CUPSD is required ?

Regards,
Sanjay Mishra
