CUPS log and paper size

i am at penn state working on a solution for making chargeback printing in an OS X lab. we have 14 epson stylus photo 2200 printers on a network with static IPs and our clients are running panther. our testing has revealed that the quality of the gimp drivers doesn't stand up to the quality (both resolution and color) of the driver supplied by epson. therefore, we are looking for a way to print through epson TCP/IP and still be able to log print jobs so we can charge on a per-print basis.

so my question is, we know we are able to pull username/printer/# of copies from the CUPS log, but is there a way to tell paper size from these logs?
