Re: CUPS Driver Development Kit 1.0rc1

Very nice!

FYI, It doesn't build on a vanilla OS X install. You have to install the headers from CUPS (which I think Apple should include in the Dev Tools). You also need to install HTMLDoc. The DDK docs Makefile does not work (missing the $HTMLDOC definition). I copied the definition from the CUPS Makefile, but even then the docs won't install. I finally just removed the docs from the top level Makefile and installed everything else.

Also, I wasn't sure from reading the license about whether or not the PPD compiler could be used to generate PPD files if they were for an OS X only closed-source distribution. Is that okay to do?

Thanks,
Dave

The CUPS Driver Development Kit (DDK) provides a suite of
standard drivers, a PPD file compiler, and other utilities that
can be used to develop printer drivers for CUPS and other
printing environments. CUPS provides a portable printing layer
for UNIX(r)-based operating systems. The CUPS DDK provides the

CUPS-based printer drivers.

The CUPS DDK is licensed under the GNU General Public License.
