Hi Bob,

Why not make the URI mostly fixed but have an extension on it that is unique for that particular host? The unique part (MAC address, # of seconds since Jan 1, 1970) could be used to make them distinct, but would be ignored for the act of generating the file. It doesn't seem like this would complicate your situation too much.
