Adding pde in cocoa?

I'm new to the list, so I appologize if this has been answered before.
I'm writing a new printer driver extension and hope to build my UI with
cocoa, not just carbon. The online docs mention an app extending the
print dialog by adding a custom NSView to an NSPrintPanel object. Can I
do something like this from within a printing dialog extension? I am
working from some existing code, and it simply creates a new carbon
window and adds items from the new window to the parent window (the
print dialog). What is the general approach to take in adding a cocoa
view to a print dialog?
This is all on 10.2+
