Support files for CUPS components

We are developing a CUPS filter, which, of course, will be installed in /usr/libexec/cups/filter. This filter has several support files that it uses. Is there a best practice concerning the location of these support files? We're thinking of creating a private subdirectory in /usr/libexec/cups/filter into which we will copy the files.
