In the ColorSync pane of the print dialog, Color Conversion can be
set to Standard or In Printer (on Tiger 10.4.3 with a CUPS raster
printer).
The tool tip for Standard indicates that setting will use the
ColorSync profile for the printer to perform the conversion. Sounds
like what I would expect.
The tool tip for In Printer says it will create "device independent
color for PostScript printer".
So, if I'm working on a CUPS raster printer driver (not
PostScript), what does the In Printer setting do? Or, have I missed
a setting in my PPD file that makes the menu choices more
appropriate for a CUPS raster printer?
The "In Printer" option only applies to PostScript printers. If you
are seeing that setting as selectable when the current printer is not
a PostScript printer, please report a bug and carefully describe your
configuration, including the PPD for the destination printer.
