I am unsure of how the Mac GUI is connected to the darwin core and as a result am unable to set up any kind of authentication for cups access via the web interface. I can can kill all authentication, but any attempt to authenticate ladmin (a user that appears in the gui) or any other user we create in the gui fails. I found a note after some hours of looking that OS X does not apparently use /etc/pasword and /etc/group files but uses files in /etc/lookupd.... but I could find nothing in /etc/lookupd. Nor could I find any gui tool for managing users and groups! What files does cups reference in order to address basic authentication? DO I need to use some other form of authentication on OS X and if so what? And where oh where is any of this fully documented?? _______________________________________________ Do not post admin requests to the list. They will be ignored.
