Re: Leopard vs Custom Backends

Hey List,

One of our products comes with a custom backend. In Tiger, to add a printer using this backend, you'd open the Printer Browser, hold down the Option key and click "More Printers...". In the resulting sheet, you would select "Advanced" from the popup menu at the top, then select your custom backend from the "Device" popup menu.

In Leopard, it looks like this feature has been removed. Instead, "More Printers" has become a toolbar item, and it looks like this feature now requires you to write a custom Printer Browser?

No, however you *do* have to customize the toolbar (right click or CTRL+click and choose Customize Toolbar) - drag the Advanced button onto the toolbar.

Then click on the Advanced button to enter a device URI.
