(Brian's message didn't actually go to Christoph, just Apple people).

From what I can tell, the gradient control in both Motion and FCP supports only showing you the alpha controls, or only showing you the RGB controls. We just don't expose this in the FxPlug API.

we have spoken in Vegas at the plugin meeting about a gradient parameter which only consists of the Alpha channel without the color information, like the one you have in your Particle Emitter's parameter "Color Over Life".
