Hi Emile. Look at FxTimingAPI.h, and search for kFxDuration_Undefined. It will be returned by a couple of methods when an image parameter is not connected. Namely, by the methods startTimeOfImageParm:forEffect:,  durationOfImageParm:forEffect:, and fieldOrderForImageParm:forEffect:.
