Best bet is to export XML for the sequence, add the markers in the
XML, then import back in with that replace updatebehavior as Andreas
noted. There isn't any way to just specify the markers (and not the
sequence data) and add them into an existing sequence.
Ah, this is what I was thinking of doing, so thank you for the
clarification.
I think for the purposes if this project it would be sufficient to
create a
new sequence with just markers and then edit the original sequence
into the
new one so that the sequence and markers become married (hopefully
happily).
