Newbie Question

Steven Frank's tutorial on Cocoa, <
http://www.panic.com/~stevenf/cocoadev/index.html>. I trying to do a
basic "Hello World" cocoa app in Project Builder and Interface Builder
as directed in the tutorial. I go into resources/MainMenu.nib/English,
double click, add hello world message text in IB and then try to compile
and every time I get "link error".
The error message includes:

m>I've tried re-installing the Public Beta Dev tools but know luck. What
is ranlib? Can anyone help?
