Re: Advice on PB, CVS & Java

1) Where should put CVSROOT? I'm working on a standalone MacOS X machine and I'm currently the only developer. In the future, I'll probably want to move the project to MacOS X Server and there'll probably be more developers. Is my home directory a good place? or /usr/local? or doesn't it matter?

A CVS repository can easily be relocated after it is created. Just make sure everyone updates their CVSROOT environment variable when you move it and that no one has checked out clones at the time (actually, existing clones can be fixed up too, but that's a bit more of a pain...) So it does not matter too much where you create the repository initially.

2) My source files are currently stored in the standard Java directory structure - i.e. com/bardac/..., intermixed with the .class files. What is the recommended way to move them into ProjectBuilder and CVS?

For getting your project into CVS in the first place, you need to use "cvs import" in a Terminal for now. You can create your project by adding the top-level "com" folder and making sure that the "Create Groups Recursively" checkbox is checked in the Add Files options panel. I would start by making a new "Java Tool" project and then adding the directory of sources.
