Re: shared precompiled header files

Ah! Ok, thanks for the clarification.

It shouldn't matter to me, I think, whether I use the old precompiled file format or the new, because all our stuff is in C. I'm just looking for a way to cut the compile times down one way or the other; we have not yet solved any precompiled headers issue with PB.

Is there a way to share the older precompiled file format files through PB?

If we use the options --load-pch and --dump-pch in scripts, they should get us to where we want to go? Are these things specific to PFE, the ppc-precomp format, or both?

I don't think I'd mind setting up a build script that uses pfe precompiled headers, but have PB-based work not use any, except for the primary application.

If you are ready to write scripts that turn off pre-compiled headers from PB and follow compiler documentation about how to use pre-comps from command line.

(Does the Xcode thing currently do the right thing here? If it does then submitting an enhancement request would probably be redundant...)

AFAIK, it does not.
