XCode and IB crashing all the time

I just installed XCode on my computer, only to find to my greatest
disappointment that it constantly crashes about every minute or so, no
matter what I am doing. Backtrace logged by XCode in Console is as follows:

Exception: EXC_BAD_ACCESS (0x0001)
Codes: KERN_INVALID_ADDRESS (0x0001) at 0x02cf8034

The new version of interface builder also now constantly crashes every time
I open it (whether or not I am opening a nib file). Here's its backtrace:

Does anybody have ANY ideas as to why this is happening to me? I am running
OS X 10.2.6 (according to Apple's website, the XCode suite is perfectly
compatible with Jaguar) on an iBook/600. Perhaps someone else had the same
problems and was able to fix it? I can't even explore XCode's new features
without it crashing on me because of project indexing.

Help!!
