Since people start to use PDF in the web, replacing eps with pdf can do a lot of things, such as web app can produce PDF doc very easily. What will be the reason not to replace EPS?

My opinion is that PDF is a better solution for the problems typically solved with EPS. However there are legacy software and work flow systems that depend of EPS so it's not always practical to replace it. On Panther and later you can use the built-in PostScript converter to convert EPS to PDF for use within your app. However there is no way to output EPS from CoreGraphics (but I believe Cocoa has a solution for this if you use the Cocoa subset of Quartz capabilities).
