In our end, writing eps is very tedious work, and we face other font related problems. If somehow we can bypass eps, it would make our life easier. We can even able to use it in our web app. If we have PDF format only, will it be very bad to our users? Another reason to ask that question is that we are trying to move to Quartz drawing, and PDF drawing is easier there.

Well come on. This is an odd question to ask a bunch of other developers.

We don't know your customers. You need to talk to them and see what their needs are. It's not about what makes your life easier. It's what makes your customer's lives easier. That's how we make our money! :) If it just so happens that both lives can be made easier, hey that's nice, but don't count on it ;)

As someone who develops apps used in the printing industry I can tell you that it's unlikely that your entire customer base is ready to, or will ever be ready to, move to PDF only workflows. Some may be, but many may not be. You'll need to talk to them.

But that said... how is EPS generation really that much more work? Especially if you already have the code? With the right design, it shouldn't be very hard to take your data model and output it to a number of different "views": EPS, PDF, Quartz, even QuickDraw if you wanted :)
