Re: Colorizing on Mac OS X

NSBitmapImageRep in Cocoa has

/* Support for colorization of grayscale images. Maps the image such that:
Gray value of midPoint -> midPointColor, black -> shadowColor, white -> lightColor.
Works on images with 8-bit SPP; thus either 8-bit gray or 24-bit color (with optional alpha).
*/
- (void)colorizeByMappingGray:(float)midPoint toColor:(NSColor *)midPointColor blackMapping:(NSColor *)shadowColor whiteMapping:(NSColor *)lightColor;

Subject: Colorizing on Mac OS X

Is there a way I can use quartz to colorize a bitmap image? Or, if not, is there a non-QD way to do that with Carbon or cocoa calls?

Thanks,

david.
