Accessing image data within a CIImage?

How can I access / retrieve / export the image data within a CIImage? I'd like a copy of a CIImage image in a pixmap-style buffer in RGBA format.

The CIImage -imageWithBitmapData:bytesPerRow:size:format:colorSpace: and -imageWithContentsOfURL: methods work fine for ingestion, but I don't see how to access or export the bitmap once it's ingested into the CIImage object.
