Quartz Debug resets the mode to "automatic" when it quits. The
Window Server debug state is global for the session, not per-
process or per-window. If your app disables it, it should re-
enable it upon quit; you should present a warning dialog to the
user and let them make the decision.
And what happens if your application crashes before resetting the
system wide setting? What if your app forgets to reset it because of
an application bug? What happens when your users start complaining
about visual tearing in the system ?
This private setting is systemwide and affects all beam sync
operations in the system. Please do not do this. This is an abuse of
the system and it's resources. There are very likely better ways to
accomplish what you are trying than to resort to this. Unfortunately
I joined in the middle so I don't have the full context of your problem.
