I have been noticing that my G5 DP 2.5 Ghz slows down to extremes

windows, for example, when Kill Monty
(http://www.freeverse.com/killmonty/) is used in windowed mode.
Even when the game is not being played (it is showing the high
scores page) and a Finder window partly overlaps my machine slows
down. On 10.3.8 doing the exact same has no negative impact on
speed.
This is an issue on Tiger when a window overlaps an OpenGL context.
It appears to be a bug in the beam sync that Tiger enables by
default, because if you disable beam sync in Quartz Debug everything
works fine again.
