I have the same issue which only occurs when rendering complicated quartz composer
patches across both displays. It's definately heat related. I bought a laptop cooler pad with
three fans powered by USB, bingo the problem is gone.
Still I consider this unacceptable that a laptop should ever just switch off, it should throttle
the performance and popup a warning message long before it gets to this stage.
I'm going to take mine in and swap in under warranty just as soon as I can afford to be
without it for a few weeks....
