Yep, and it gets worse. Image with Movie won't even load a qtz file that has been
saved as a quicktime anymore.
This pretty much makes my free quartonian mixer that I have been developing for almost two
years useless. It's not possible to use quartonian mixer to mix multiple compositions on the
fly anymore.
I cannot see any way that a qtz file saved as a quicktime .mov file could invoke an infinite
loop, they have to be different files as one is a qtz, one is a mov. so I'm begging Apple to at
least please return the ability to load quicktime movies that contain qtz tracks.
What I find unbelievable is that there was zero consultation with developers before removing
this feature. How about a shout out to the quartz-composer list saying "we have a security
issue with this feature, how many people use this?" then perhaps take some feedback on
possible solutions.
This kind of openness and developer consultation is perhaps why a certain other company
has a 95+ percent market share.
I know Apple's policy is not to comment on these types of issues but frankly that policy sucks
and hurts Apple more than it helps it.
