Re: OSC in Quartz Composer

Hi Surya,

You should indeed use floats.
When using floats, what does the output structure of OSC Receiver contains?

You must make sure that the monome sends an array of floats too (i.e. sends (0.0 0.0 1.0)), and not of integers.

Congratulations on the release! I'm finding lots of helpful new features - love the comments ability and right-click input splitters.

I'm excited about the inclusion of OSC for interacting with my monome, and could use some help getting it running. The monome is an 8x8 box of led-containing buttons - full info at http://monome.org if you're interested.

When you press a button on the monome, it sends this message: /box/ press x y bool. For example, if i pressed the button in the first column and first row, it would send /box/press 0 0 1. I've set up an OSC receiver on the proper port listening to 'box/press' with type 'float' and I can indeed see a boolean 0 or 1 when I'm pressing buttons.

Unfortunately, I haven't yet been able to get the first two numbers telling me which button has been pressed. I understand it should come through as an array, and I've tried switching the type to 'floats' and passing the data through various Structure passes, but to no avail.

Same issue on sending OSC - I can send boolean or float messages like /box/test (bool) or /box/intensity (float) but array messages like /box/led/0 0 1 to affect the state of an led still elude me.

Thanks for any help you can give!
