Re: 1 visual, 5 outputs

you could also get a few scan converters, and split the screen output to 6 sections (5 wont really work..), and take each scan converter out to a separate monitor.

set up a quartz composer patch with 6 sprites to play your video on.... ?

you would retain hardware acceleration this way as well...

hi – I am looking for a stable software solution for creating a five

installation, and I thought; maybe quartz composer within a cocoa
application (like the qctv sample; for changing typography, text,
colors,
clips, etc.) would be a good choice. does someone have experiences
with quartz and splitting it for several monitors? thanks, simon

I would be very interested to hear how you go with this.

Do you want five seperate outputs? That would mean a Tower with at least
two extra PCI graphics cards.  But I think you have an unsolvable
problem here that the extra outputs on the PCI cards are not Quartz
Extreme accelerated so they can't be used to draw to with Quartz Composer.

You may find that MAX/MSP or PD/GEM are the way to go as they are
capable of drawing in a pure software mode.

If i'm wrong I'd like to hear as I've thought of trying something
similiar myself.
