Re: performance of core image filters on a new ibook

I haven't tried the new ibook, but as for Motion on an iBook, I probably wouldn't recommend it. I was using Motion on a dual 2.5 PowerMac with 2 gigs of ram and a beefy vid card and the program still choked on occasion. Maybe this has been resolved in version 2, but I suspect that 32MB of VRAM isn't enough to do a whole lot of realtime work with Motion.

has anyone tried the performance of core image filters using Quartz Composer on a new ibook with the 32MB Radeon 9550?

I believe this chip does support the full range of pixel shaders and
should be accelerated but slower than a full 9600.....

And I know this is a long shot but does anyone know if these machines
will run Motion?

thanks
