What you're after is the 'image with movie' unit, in the 'generators' section.
You'll need to enter the name of the movie file you want to play as well.

If you find Quartz Composer difficult to get the hang of (it is a programmer tool
at the moment, with the potential to be something a lot broader in future) then
check out Isadora - http://www.troikatronix.com

I still tend to sketch out my ideas in Isadora, and figure out how to translate
them into QC later.

I saw the matrix example but if you load it in Qc there is no way to add the .mov
just .jpg images.
