Unfortunately, none of this is actually possible, as the force-GPU for Core Image is a per-context setting and not global.



A man with a PowerBook G4 1.5 GHz (ATI Mobility 9700, 128 MB) has 20 fps.
With my iMac G5 (FX 5200, 64 MB) I obtain 2 fps. You say that in case of FX 5200, CPU is faster than GPU. Then, hypothetically I would obtain less than 2 fps (vs 20 on a PowerBook!) if Core Image was GPU based in this tutorial?
I cannot believe this :(
