Howdy all, I was glad to see there was a list out there for Quartz
Composer stuff.
I have a problem that "seems" trivial, but I can't find the solution
so maybe someone can forward me towards the right info. I looked
through the archives but didn't find anything pertinent.
I have a pretty simple composition. It has a gradient, some text and
a Quicktime movie of some flames. When I open it in Composer it
looks fine, I get all the parts working okay. When I load it in my
application, however, I get everything but the flames.
I figured this must be a path problem (and it may be), but I've
fiddled quite a bit and can't seem to get it to work in a portable
way (i.e. so it will work on any machine in any directory). If I set
the path for the "Image with Movie" patch to be absolute (e.g. /Users/
erik/myApp.app/Contents/Resources/flame.mov) it will work anywhere I
put it on that machine, but fails if I try to copy it to another
machine. If I set it to something relative like "./flame.mov" it
continues to work as a screen saver and in composer (provided the
flame.mov is in the same directory as the .qtz file) but doesn't work
even on the machine I built it on then.
I guess I'd be happier if there was a way to permanently embed the
movie file (like Quicktime's "make movie self-contained" option).
But if that's not an option, is there a way to set this up so it can
always find the movie from the quartz composition?
