Yep, that did it.  I just had to add...

[view loadCompositionFromFile:[[NSBundle mainBundle] pathForResource:@"About" ofType:@"qtz"]]

... inside my awakeFromNib() (and link "view" to the QCView in my nib file).

If you store the composition directly in the QCView in the nib file, then since it has no composition file, it cannot find the movie using a relative path.


You would need to load the composition from the resources folder of the app on the QCView with -loadComposition
