No VJ software currently does this (that I know of). The VJ software
developer would have to add something like a "core image send" function
that would allow the output to be passed into compositions.
As I understand it it would possible using this mechanism for multiple
programs to pass hardware accelerated video streams to each other
through sharing PBuffers, very much like the pc program 'patchbox'.

(patchbox doesn't happen on the gpu but the idea is there...)
But this would require all the VJ/video app developers to add support
for this in every program....
