Re: Published Name and Key

I am wondering if there is a way to publish a NAME different to the KEY on the final "root" patch. Every time you publish a port, the key being published takes the same name and adds underscores wherever there is a space.

All that is fine but I need to rename the Published NAME to something else.

In other words I need to have the published name to be a complete different name and length than the published key.

Is that possible within QC ?

A patch port in QC has a "key" that is used by the system to uniquely identify it and which cannot be changed, and a "name" used when displaying the port in the UI - the name can be changed, localized and so on.

When publishing a port, the user is prompted for a name, which by default is the same as the original port, and the key is built from that name. To rename the port (remember the key cannot be changed), display the "Published Inputs" contextual again and press the "Option" key while selecting the port.
