Re: Quicktime and Quartz composer

Exporting as an MP4 will work ok, as long as the recipient
can play MP4 files.

If you export a Quartz Composition as a Quicktime movie it will not play on a PC or anything else that cannot play ".qtz" files.  It's because one of the layers will still be Quartz Composer.  If you were to export that Quartz movie as an ".avi" for example, it will work.  But then you run into the stupid "avi" codec issue. Not all "avi" files are created equal.  Just look at the movie properties to make sure that you do not see a "Quartz Composition" layer before giving it to someone who cannot view Quartz Compositions.

Perhaps Apple and Micro$atan (hint) will open up more of the technology to other platforms to fuel and encourage more innovations.
