hi,
i am new on the list and have a question about dissolving videos.

here is the scenario:
-i have one quicktime movie playing blue content. this is the base video.
-then i have 3 other videos (Red, Yellow, Green), the active of those 3
is choosen by random.
-i use MIDI to send notes to start transitions. my MIDI setup works and
i get working MIDI signals into QC. see my MIDI signal like a key
pressed to start a video transition and another key pressed to dissolve
back to the original video.

here what i want to happen:
the basevideo loops continuosly for ever.
when i send a MIDI signal (for example #C1) to QC i want to dissolve
from the base video to one of the 3 other videos and stay there.
when i send another MIDI signal (for example #C2) i want to dissolve
back to the base video and stay there.

my problem is that i cannot figure out how to dissolve back and forth
between the base video and the randomly choosen video.
it looks simple but it comes out quite complicated. so if any of you
could help me i would be very thankful.
