hi,
i just want to report a bug that caused major problems in my last
production.
we made a seamless looping and tiling water-caustic video and wanted to
use multiple projectors side by side to show that video and a webcam to
steer some transitions of colors interactively.
so in quartz composer we have set up everything so that all worked well.
then our customer said that the videos on the projector do have seams.
we checked our original unprocessed (and uncompressed)videos, we checked
the quicktime compressed video that where used to feed quartz composer,
we saw no seam at all.
after some huge wondering we made a screenshot of the qc-viewer window
and bang here the seam was visible. since we croped all videos correctly
in qc i made a testpicture with the original resolution and set every
pixel from the border inwards another color to see how many pixel were
missing in the output.
the surprise was that horizontal we missed 7 pixels and about 4 pixels
verticaly.
after all that i had to correct the output video by scaling the output
down in x and y to match the exact resolution.
the conclusion is, the viewer is not showing the correct size of the
video it shows. the video is slightly bigger overlapped. the solution
could be to use the standard quicktime player as viewer or to fix the
bug in the viewer.
i hope you could understand all my text (english is not my language).
best regards,
daniel
